16 to 34′s Ready For Ad-Funded Rich Media Services

free-phone.gifA new survey in the UK, commissioned by Mobixell Networks, reveals that a sizable opportunity exists among the 16-34 year-old demographic to offer ad-funded mobile content via rich media services like multimedia messaging or mobile video services. Download the full survey results.

The survey, which was conducted by independent research company Gfk NOP on behalf of Mobixell, revealed that user’s have interest in accepting mobile advertisements beyond the traditional realm of SMS text messaging.

Some of the key findings from the study include:

  • 35% of 16-35 year-olds would use more MMS if they were offered free or discounted in return for receiving mobile adverts.
  • 29% of 16-35 year-olds would use more video services if they were offered free or discounted in return for receiving mobile adverts.
  • There is a strong correlation with age, as the 55 to 64 year old group includes a much smaller percent wanting to use more services – 16% for video services and 11% for MMS.
  • A surprisingly low number of respondents, only 10% to 12%, said that “too difficult to use” was the main reason they did not use more MMS or mobile video services.

The study includes breakdowns by age, sex, social class, UK region, marital status and working status.
