SinglePoint Adds Advertising To Interactive TV

singlepoint.gifUsing mobile to communicate with Interactive TV shows has been a big business for quite some time. Now brands can participate in the conversation thanks to SingleBrand, a new system from SinglePoint.

Focused in North America, SinglePoint has been a major player in operating the voting and sweepstakes part of interactive TV shows such as “Deal or No Deal”, and claims to process over 80% of all interactive TV messages in North America. Basically when people are voting or communicating with an interactive TV show, SinglePoint is often the company that is managing the mobile communications part.

I had a conversation with SinglePoint about this earlier in the year, and it was cleat that this is an ideal situation for inserting mobile advertisements: you know just what the person is doing at that moment (watching TV), you know which show they are watching, and you may know something about their likes/dislikes based on what they have sent in.

SingleBrand provides advertisers with the ability to insert advertising into existing mobile interactive TV campaigns. For example, when a TV viewer responds to cast a vote for their favorite performer via their mobile phone, they may receive a confirmation reply thanking them for voting that also includes an ad message from a relevant brand.

Currently, SinglePoint is set to serve ads for the scheduled inventory of shows seen on Bravo, NBC Universal, MTV, FOX, The CW and others.

“There has been high demand from our media and entertainment partners and the advertising community for ad-supported mobile SMS and MMS campaigns,” said Rich Begert, President and CEO of SinglePoint. “SinglePoint has processed close to 100 million interactive transactions over the past twelve months alone, so adding an advertising component to these transactions is the natural next step in expanding our suite of mobile campaign solutions.”
