AKQA Mobile launched officially in February 2006, though the agency AKQA has had a strong mobile offering for about five years. AKQA was the first company to launch a service on mobiles that let you search for a pre-owned BMW, by making the BMW Approved Used Car Directory work on mobile. AKQA followed that by enabling the Sainsbury’s recipe database to be available on mobile. Since then the agency has been continuing to pioneer the use of mobile. Mobile is at the centre of the consumer digital revolution and will become a focal point for marketers. Clients are now giving digital unprecedented prominence within their marketing plans. In 2006, AKQA deployed mobile marketing initiatives in SMS, gaming, shotcodes, video sponsorship and mobile ticketing for client such as Coca-Cola, Nike and Xbox.
