Celltick has today announced it has closed an additional $8.5M from its principal investors JVP and Amadeus in venture capital funding to support its new mass reach mobile media strategy. This investment will see Celltick build on its LiveScreen™ Media platform to provide a complete managed service offering.

Celltick has already provided pioneer operators with a managed service structure including Vodafone Essar’s FLASH! service in India. Celltick will continue to expand its managed service offering to customers, with a reach capacity of over 140 million LiveScreen™ Media users.

Celltick’s LiveScreen™ Media platform, which promotes content and brands over the idle-screen of the mobile phone, has already achieved great success with over 25 operators globally including AIS Thailand, Vodafone Essar in India, Beeline Russia, Claro Brazil and Globe in the Philippines. Under the new proposition, Celltick has evolved its business strategy from a license based model to focus on the mass distribution of its application, distributing unlimited licenses at no cost to mobile operators. Celltick will be responsible for managing all aspects of the mobile medium including editorial content, promotion of rich media and advertising sales.

Celltick’s strategy of gradual transition into fully managed content and mobile marketing service is complementary to JVP’s focus on Media and Technology,

both in its existing portfolio companies, such as Celltick, and in new Fund investments.

Richard Anton, Partner at Amadeus Capital Partners stated: “Amadeus is delighted to invest again in Celltick. Since we have been involved with the company it has made enormous progress and has mapped out a unique market position globally. We are now looking forward to working with Celltick to build out its managed service offering.”

Stephen Dunford, CEO of Celltick said, “Celltick has already positioned itself as a leader in idle screen marketing and is now pioneering the managed service proposition in which it manages the channel for partner operators. Our team have the global expertise and experience to ensure that this unique mobile marketing medium increases ARPU for operators.”
