middle_east_map.gifThe survey, conducted by Acision<\/strong>, showed that the potential for mobile advertising in the Middle East was very strong. 64% of respondents believed that it will mirror the success of Internet advertising. <\/p>\n

The Mobile Advertising Survey <\/strong>was conducted at Gitex 2007<\/strong>, with almost 300 delegates from across the region responding. Of them 48% stated that they receive mobile ads at least 2-4 times a week. The one major problem was that of relevance, with certain operators not studying their databases carefully enough and sending out SMS ads in Arabic to non-Arabic speakers. Another problem faced in the Middle East is that of an opt-out facility (65% of respondents were not even aware of the opt-in or opt-out nature of mobile advertising).<\/p>\n
