Yahoo! took a large step into the mobile advertising world today announcing the availability in 19 countries of their display ad platform for Yahoo! Mobile Web Service. The pitch is that advertisers can reach a targeted audience on both their PC’s and mobile phones through a single partner. Available since November 2006 in the US, this expansion will enable global brands to reach audiences around the world.
Several major brands – including Nissan, Pepsi, Proctor & Gamble Asia Pacific, and Singapore Airlines announced their intention to launch campaigns immediately on the new platform.
Yahoo! has been offering sponsored search results on the Mobile Web Service since October 2006.
