The GSMA Mobile Innovation Global Award Competition showcases innovation in the global mobile industry.

The GSMA Mobile Innovation Global Award Competition (part of the GSMA Mobile Innovation Market) recognises excellence and showcases innovation in the global mobile industry. In spring 2008, the GSMA launched a worldwide tournament-style competition whereby one innovative company will earn the title of “2009 Global Champion” during the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. This competition provides the opportunity for emerging technology companies to present ideas to leading industry investors, equipment vendors, and mobile operators – and compete to win the global title.

During the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelone, The EMEA Tournament of the Competition will spotlight fifteen (15) pre-selected innovative concepts from around the world as Top Innovators. One winner will be named from each of five categories and awarded the title of “GSMA Global Semi-Finalist.” From these five extraordinary ideas, two will be deemed “Mobile Innovation Global Finalists” and will move on to compete against other Finalists selected from our other Marketplace events. The EMEA Tournament will culminate with an evening ceremony and cocktail event Monday, 16 February 2009 during the Mobile World Congress.
