Cellfish Media Launch the First Punk Rock Ad-Funded Mobile Social Network Channel

Cellfish.com, who runs ad-supported mobile and web entertainment portals which allow users to store and share their content, has created a specific channel for fans of metal, hardcore, indie & punk music. This follows a new trend among Mobile Social Networks – launching ‘channels’ – and is one of the first where advertising is involved.

The new channel, called the Mobile Threat channel, will support this summer’s Sounds of the Underground tour. It will encourage fan interaction, there will be a mobile blogging contest with VIP passes for the last two shows being given away, and daily tour alerts, weekly newsletters, SMS texting and video blogging. The channel will also sell ringtones and wallpaper of the Sounds of the Underground touring acts.

The good news for advertisers is that this type of Channel will attract a very segmented audience, thus allowing an advertiser to target their market more effectively.
