Aardman expands mobile offering with ad-supported video through Rhythm NewMedia

July 31, 2007 – Aardman Animations, known for hits including Wallace & Gromit and Chicken Run, is expanding its content line-up on mobile. The content will be added to operator 3’s ad-supported video service, which is operated by Rhythm NewMedia. Aardman has enjoyed a lot of success with video shorts adapted to mobile such as Angry Kid, which at its peak sold more than 10,000 video clips a day over mobile networks. Aardman will be adding onto the ad-supported video service clips from Creature Comforts, A Town Called Panic, Purple and Brown and Morph.

“Launching an ad-supported service is the next step in a strategy, which will continue Aardman’s leadership in mobile animation services,” said Robin Gladman, Digital Product Manager at Aardman Animations.”We are excited about bringing our content on a service that is seeing growth of 600,000 users in the first two months.”

“Aardman really understands how to create compelling mobile content. This content will be a great addition to the line-up of comedy entertainment on the service,” said Nisha Malhan, Director Business Development in Rhythm’s London office.
