According to an interview published in ContentSutra, India’s Digital News Monitor, mobile CPM rates in India have increased by 40% in the first 6 months of 2008. The interview is with Abhay Singhal, Vice President of Corporate Sales at mKhoj, who also discusses conditions in the overall Indian mobile advertising market.
Other points raised in the interview include:
- Mobile CPS rates have increased 50% during the first half of 2008. However prices in the Indian market are still lower than in other markets, and are expected to remain so.
- The two most important things that mobile agencies need to do are first to make sure clients’ expectations are set correctly and then met; and secondly to educate clients on the key benefits of the mobile medium and then make sure the campaigns utilizes these benefits
- India is a “global friendly” market. Because of English being the primary language, India is a huge global content consumer, and vice versa. Content generated out of India is also consumed globally.
