India Sees 40% Rise In CPM Rates in First Half of 2008

india_flag.gifAccording to an interview published in ContentSutra, India’s Digital News Monitor, mobile CPM rates in India have increased by 40% in the first 6 months of 2008. The interview is with Abhay Singhal, Vice President of Corporate Sales at mKhoj, who also discusses conditions in the overall Indian mobile advertising market.

mkhoj_abhay.gifOther points raised in the interview include:

  • Mobile CPS rates have increased 50% during the first half of 2008. However prices in the Indian market are still lower than in other markets, and are expected to remain so.
  • The two most important things that mobile agencies need to do are first to make sure clients’ expectations are set correctly and then met; and secondly to educate clients on the key benefits of the mobile medium and then make sure the campaigns utilizes these benefits
  • India is a “global friendly” market. Because of English being the primary language, India is a huge global content consumer, and vice versa. Content generated out of India is also consumed globally.
