Telefónica Partners With Amobee In Spain

telefonica_logo.gifAmobee Media Systems has announced that they have launched mobile advertising for mobile giant Telefónica in Spain.

Telefónica is one of the world’s largest mobile operator groups, with close to 200 million mobile subscribers in Europe, Africa, and Latin America.


The Amobee system differs from many other mobile advertising solutions on the market because it is designed to work within the operator’s existing infrastructure, rather than focusing on “off-portal” advertising. The intended benefit of this approach should be to ensure customers get a relevant mobile advertising experience.

“Our customers’ experience is of paramount importance to us, and was our first priority in considering a mobile advertising solution,” said Susana Rodríguez Urgel, On-Line Channels and Mobile Commerce Manager, Telefónica.

Amobee’s ad serving solution is designed to dynamically insert relevant ads into all mobile entertainment and communication channels including:

  • video,
  • music,
  • messaging,
  • games, and
  • WAP.

“Telefónica is a great example of a mobile operator taking control of advertising revenues on its network and, in the process, ensuring a positive customer experience,” said Zohar Levkovitz, CEO of Amobee.

According to research compiled by INFOADEX 2009 the Spanish mobile advertising market is grew by over 60% in 2008 and is the fastest growing digital advertising channel.
