Meffy Short List Announced

The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) has announced the shortlisted entries for the 2009 Meffy Awards.

The shortlisted entries for the Best Mobile Ad Campaign are a strong group of campaigns that showcase how far mobile advertising has come in the past year.


Drawn from over 180 submissions from over 60 countries, this year’s entries highlight the growing international flavor of the awards. The shortlisted entries were selected after three days of judging involving 43 international press and analysts. The full list of award categories included:

  • Search & Discovery

  • Application
  • Quality of Experience

Mobile Ad Campaign

Three main criteria used to select candidates for the Mobile Advertising Campaign: Innovation (technical, creative or commercial originality), Optimization for mobile (use of mobile medium, user interaction, viral nature), and Effectiveness (achieved campaign objectives, success in driving awareness).

MobiAD’s Jim Cook participated as a judge for the Mobile Ad Campaign category, along with several other industry analysts and press.

The short listed entries for Mobile Advertising Campaign are:

  • Thmbnls – Interactive Mobile Drama – 2020 London

This year’s winners will be unveiled on 23rd June at an awards dinner in London. The event takes place on the first evening of MEF’s official annual conference, Mobile Entertainment Market.
