Mobile Boarding Passes Show 1200% Year-on-Year Growth!

trinity-logo2.gifTrinity Mobile has announced a 1200% year-on-year growth in the delivery of mobile boarding passes to airline passengers in 2009. Last year, the company sent out over 600,000 mobile boarding passes via SMS compared with 50,000 in 2008.

This increase occurred with little direct marketing of the service, and was almost entirely a result of consumers opting into receiving it. This rapid acceptance reinforces the rule that the key when offering services over the mobile device is to insure that these are make a consumer’s life easier.

Trinity Mobile’s technology uses SMS delivered bar codes that can be scanned directly off the screen of any mobile device. The service is currently being used by airlines such as Austrian Airlines and British Midlands.
