BBC top Mobile Web site in UK

telphia_comscore.gifTelephia and comScore released the latest results from their study of mobile vs. PC based internet usage. The study shows the number of mobile internet users in the UK in January to be roughly 5.7 million. This is about 20% of the number of PC based users. The percentage comparison is roughly the same in the US market.

Other interesting results from the study include:

  • 63% of mobile web users in UK are male, vs 54% of PC internet users. In the US it is 60% and 49% respectively.
  • 67% of mobile web users in UK are 35 or younger, vs 39% of PC internet users. In the US market the numbers are 46% and 37% respectively.
  • The top 5 mobile web destinations in the UK in January were:
    • BBC
    • MSN Windows Live
    • Yahoo!
    • Google
    • SKY
  • The top 5 mobile web destinations in the US in January were:
    • Yahoo!
    • MSN-Windows Live
    • Google
    • The Weather Channel
    • AOL
